Metaphysical Beliefs – Agate is a supportive stone, meaning it will bring you encouragement and reinforcement. It is a neutral stone, meaning it can transfer both positive and negative energy. The outcome of its use is based on the intentions you put into it. It is a healing stone, but also as a grounding one.
Gemology – Agate (SiO2) is a mixture of microcrystalline, or cryptocrystalline, quartz, chalcedony and opal banded together. It is described as Silicone Dioxide in a repeating pattern. Petrified wood is a rare variation of Agate. It has a waxy luster and is a 6.5-7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness.
